Step into the world of windsurfing at our Duotone Pro Center in Viana do Castelo. No matter whether you are an absolute beginner or an expert we offer the right course for you. The course program on offer encompasses the whole range of expertise levels from beginner to intermediate to advanced. Our instructors licensed by the Portuguese Sailing Federation are all experienced windsurfers themselves and are keen to help you progress further in the sport. Customized coaching sessions are available and will be tailored to your skills, needs and wishes to help you get the most out of every session.

WINDSURFING STARTER LESSON

Beginner

Things start off with a brief orientation on the beach, learning the basics of wind theory and the first simulation techniques. Then we head to the water, using our most stable boards by Fanatic and easy-to-handle Duotone sails. Your instructor will teach you to steer, turn around and sail in before your sail out. The beginner coaching program is made for all students looking to become independent sailors in light wind conditions.

 

Level: beginners to intermediate

Requirement: Ability to swim, no need to have practiced water sports before

Duration: up to 1.5 hours for each lesson

Group ratio: up to 3 students per instructor. Depending on the destination and conditions

Equipment: all first-choice Duotone, Fanatic and Ion (special novice) gear

WINDSURFING REFRESHER AND IMPROVER

Intermediate

Our wide-ranging plan is to learn new maneuvers, such as tacking, jibing, using the harness, beach starts, planning techniques, etc. Our trained instructors will take you beyond the basics by teaching you how to master your sailing skills on smaller volumes. The program is made to take an intermediate windsurfer further, bringing you the competence to sail in medium to strong winds.

Requirement: sailing in choppy waters and moderate winds without daggerboard

WINDSURFING ADVANCED COURSE

Advanced

Water starts, fast tacks, carving jibes, stance, foot straps, jumping, forward loops, old-new school maneuvers, racing-slaloming techniques… you name it! The Duotone Pro Centers have several instructors who will make you wonder why it was so hard to learn all these challenging moves and if you need any pieces of advice in rigging/ tuning your gear, the advanced training course is your correct choice.

 

Level: experienced sailors only
